Funny title, but was I was working on a new product line where I am closer to launching, and I realized it soon will be over. What will be over, the goal of a new product launch. Yes, I will have completed that goal just like I had imagined with the quality and feature set I am proud to brand. I don’t stress about the little bumps in the ride anymore, but I have learned to enjoy the entire process of creating, editing, and completing my ambitious goals. Just like a great day off surfing, even if it’s just an hour in the morning or afternoon, or if you are like me sometimes – during work. I wonder how many hours of work have gone to surfing in the middle of the day by people? If it was up to me, I would call surfing breaks mandatory for work places which are located close to a surf spot.

Back to my point, after I started surfing, I retrained myself to enjoy the ride of any goal, not just the completion of the goal. I can only set a few goals in my life to accomplish, and if I choose to only be happy once I complete those goals, well that leaves about a few dozen happy times where the rest of the time is lived in misery and depression. Could you imagine if you are surfing and you hated the ride, but loved the wipe-out. Where each day you awoke, grabbed a cup of joe, and headed out on your board to surf to your misery. There you are, angry, and pissed off at the world until you ride your board and fall off. It’s crazy to even imagine, but many people live their life just that way, only happy once they accomplish a goal.

I like to get things done, but I also like to live a happy and a relaxed life full of smiles and sun.  So here’s to all the people that live to surf and surf to live!
